Local Statistics

During 2010, services were provided in the following areas:

  • 202 medical exams following allegations of abuse
  • 421 forensic interviews
  • 560 mental health counseling sessions
  • 1669 Victim Advocacy sessions (including Crisis Counseling)
  • approximately 50 children participated in supervised visitation

The center also provides training on the prevention and identification of child abuse and, in 2010, we presented to:

  • 1025 students in 3 elementary schools, 1 high school, and 9 daycare centers
  • approximately 200 individuals at 8 sessions presented to community agencies

Medical training was provided by our Medical Director and medical staff to the Leesburg Regional Medical Center Emergency Room staff to assist in the identification of child abuse injuries. Trainings are also planned for the medical staff at Waterman Hospital, South Lake Hospital and The Villages Hospital.
