O’Toole Bill to Aid Victims of Child Abuse, from The Villages Daily Sun
One of the state’s child advocacy groups could get a financial boost thanks to state Rep. Marlene O’Toole, R-The Villages. The District 42 representative recently filed a bill that would make it convenient to contribute to the Florida Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers, an organization that provides support to child abuse victims. Medical Exam Area Child Protection Team Update
We are pleased to announce that the Center is on track to assume the Florida Department of Health Child Protection Contract on April 1, 2010. Exams are preformed by our on-staff ARNP, Karyn Walker, and administered by our Medical Director, Dr. Oludapo Soremi, a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Hospitalist with the Central Florida Health Alliance. Thank You, Leesburg Newcomers!
The Center would like to thank the Leesburg Newcomers Club for all of their support over the last several years. Their president, Lynn Fimmano, recently accepted the 2009 Advocacy in Action Award from the Florida Network of Children's Advocacy at their annual convention in Orlando. The Club was selected from the entire state of Florida as "a group who has demonstrated the highest standards of advocacy on behalf of the children."
